Introduction

This bulletin provides technical information on product improvements for Symmetry CONNECT & GUEST for both hosted and on-premise deployments.

New Functionality

GUEST

  • The user interface for the “My Visits” page has been redesigned, with a goal of making it more user friendly and self-evident as to what is expected of the user:

An option to view the ‘My Visits’ page in the classic layout will be available for the next few releases. Once clicked, the old view will remain until the user is logged out

  • In order to simplify the interface for non-administrative users of the system, the dashboard will no longer be displayed for users who have only the Host or Host Delegate role.
  • A button to raise a new visit from the ‘My Visits’ page has been added.
  • A new ‘Delegates’ button has been added.
    • This will open a side menu, which will allow the ability to assign and remove host delegates to/from the current logged-in user.
  • A new ‘Favorites’ button has been added.
    • Clicking the ‘Star’ icon next to the name of a visitor will ‘Favorite’ them. Clicking the ‘Favorites’ button will open a side menu, allowing the ability to view and manage favorites
  • A new ‘Refresh’ button has been added to the ‘My Visits’ page to allow users to refresh the list of visitors without completely refreshing the page.
  • A new configuration option ‘Show New Visit tab’ is now available in GUEST > Configuration > System to allow the New Visit tab to be shown/hidden.
  • The ‘Start Date’ and ‘End Date’ filters have been replaced with a single filter called ‘Date Range’ which, when clicked, will pull up a calendar modal on-screen to allow the user to select start and end dates to filter by.
    • The ‘Start Date’ is shown at the top left of the calendar and can be clicked to allow the user to select the start date.
    • After a Start Date has been selected, the calendar will automatically move over to selecting an End Date (shown in the top right of the calendar).
    • The range of dates selected will then be highlighted in red. Clicking the calendar again will move back to selecting a new Start Date.
    • Underneath the Start and End Dates, there are two dropdowns to allow the user to select a month and a year.
  • A message asking the user to confirm cancellation will now appear when canceling a visit from the ‘My Visits’ page, to reduce the likelihood of accidental cancellations.
  • The letters next to each visit indicating the Building, Floor and Location have been changed to icons instead of letters.
  • The new My Visits page is now infinitely scrollable, and all results are displayed on one page
  • To display scroll progress, an indication has been added to the bottom-right of the page next to the scrollbar. This will indicate the number of visits loaded versus the total number of visits in the list.
  • The ‘Date Range’ filter has been updated for the Reception and Visit Approval Notifications pages as well.
  • A button to raise a new visit from the ‘Reception’ page has been added.

IDM

  • Users without any role in IDM will no longer see the IDM tab in the user interface, with the exception of identity managers.

A user can still access their user profile by clicking on their user icon in the top right-hand corner of the application, next to the Sign Out button.

Known Issues

  • There is an issue where, if you edit the Self-Registration visit type definitions configuration in GUEST whilst logged into the self registration kiosk, the configuration updates are not visible.
  • There is an issue where a user may experience screen delays when switching between the front and the back of a two-sided badge template preview.
