Partition Data by Company

IDM > Configuration > Partition Data by Company:

Enabling “Partition Data by Company” allows an administrator to configure what data Identities within each Company can see. A Company can be partitioned whereby its Identities can only see each other’s data, or they may be able to see data from additional companies too depending on configuration. A Company can be configured to see all other Company data if required.

Company partitioning affects the GUEST and CONNECT tabs (it has no effect on the IDM tab itself). If partitioning is enabled and configured, users of GUEST and CONNECT will only be able to see data according to the Company Partitioning configured.

For example, if a company is configured to where they can only see their own data, the following restrictions will apply:

GUEST:

  • Host Delegate users will only be able to register visitors on behalf of other users from their company. They will not have access to any users from any other company in the system.

  • Users will only see visitors created by hosts within their company. They will have no access to visitor data entered by users from other companies.

  • Reception Users will only see registered visits associated with their company. They will not see registered visits associated with users from other companies.

  • Users with access to reports will only see data associated with their company. The reports will not show data associated with any other customer in the system.

CONNECT:

  • Users from a partitioned/restricted company will only be able to request access & credentials on behalf of people within their own company. They will not see users from any other companies in the list.

  • Users with access to the CONNECTIdentities tab (e.g. badge admins) will only see Identities from their own company.

  • Users with access to reports will only see data associated with their company. The reports will not show data associated with any other customer in the system.

Configure a New Company Partition:

  • To set up a Company Partition, click “New”.

  • Select the Base Company (this is the Company that needs to be configured). Next, select the Company Visibility (these are the Companies that the Base Company will be able to see in the system).

  • Selecting “Allow visibility into all companies” will allow the Base Company to access to see the data of all other Companies in the system.
