Introduction

This bulletin provides technical information on product improvements for Symmetry CONNECT & GUEST for both hosted and on-premise deployments.

New Functionality

  • We have changed Date and Time formats to be the following:
    • Large Format: ddddMM (Thursday, Mar 25, 2021)
    • Short Format: MMMDYYYY (Mar 25, 2021)
    • Time: AM/PM
  • Pagination will be hidden if there are no pages to navigate to
  • Secondary navigation and bread crumb trail has been fixed into place to stop it scrolling from under the main navigation panel
  • On/Off buttons have be altered to operate as a toggle
    • Display only the label for the current state such that:
      • When on, On will displays and off will be hidden
      • When off, Off will be displayed and On will be hidden

GUEST

  • Two additional email templates have been added;
    • Visit Cancellations - This template is for emails that will be sent to all visitors and additional configured recipients when the visit has been canceled by the host or host delegate.

    • Visit Updates - This template is for emails that will be sent to all visitors and additional configured recipients when the visit has been updated. For example, if the visit arrival time is changed.

      As all GUEST email templates, these new templates are configurable by ‘Visit Type’ by navigating to GUEST > Configuration > Visit Configuration > Add/Manage Visit Types > > Visit Notifications.

  • We have changed who can see QR Scanning and Credential icons, they will now only be visible to users that hold the ‘receptionist’ role.
  • We have renamed ‘Identity Search’ to ‘Visitor Search’.
  • We have redesigned error, warning and information notifications so they will now all display consistently.

CONNECT

  • We have altered text within Requests so that ‘Access on Behalf of’ will read ‘Access on behalf of another identity’.

IDM

  • A new configuration option has been added to IDM in the Configuration > Settings > Other Settings tab, that will allow users to toggle whether primary email addresses must be unique (enabled by default) or whether there can be duplicates.

This option cannot be enabled if there are already duplicate primary email addresses in the system.

While disabled, Use Email Address as User Name will not be available.

  • A new checkbox has been added to the IDM Uploads page to allow uploaded records to update identities in IDM if the primary email addresses match.

Public API

  • We have added additional API requests to allow Users to Suspend/Unsuspend Identities via the Public API.

Issues Addressed

  • FP163228 - We have Addressed an issue with long delays between Checkin through Self Registration / GUEST and badges being printed.
  • FP163136 - We have Addressed an issue with Checking in Visitors when photos are not required.
  • We have Addressed an issue with email templates in GUEST have differing Date/Time formats, dates have now been standardized throughout all GUEST notifications.
  • Addressed an issue FP162681 with the Identity Extract report that would show certain identities to not have an photo in Connect. However when checking said identity in Connect they did.
  • Addressed an issue where Access Group Values did not persist when selecting to edit multiple access groups
  • Addressed an issue where a hyperlink was implemented on the Current Audits Widgets that would take the user to a blank page
  • Addressed an issue where the same card number with a different facility code could not be assigned
  • Addressed an issue where the Connect email template CredentialRequest_SubmittedContentForPhotoTech would generate an error when copied
  • Addressed an issue FP162406 where jQuery needed to be updated to a later version to protect the application from vulnerabilities

Known Issues

  • There is an issue where, if you edit the Self-Registration visit type definitions configuration in GUEST whilst logged into the self registration kiosk, the configuration updates are not visible. -There is an issue where a user may experience screen delays when switching between the front and the back of a two-sided badge template preview.
